Welcome to
CJ's Page of Blah
Update
22 October 2005 - In addition to a few wedding photos, I also put up a bunch of random pictures of pets, people, and items in my house.
Where is CJ now? ... seven years ago, at a little
known institution called Fitchburg State College, a first year co-ed sat at
a bland, bi-tonal VAX computer terminal responding to an email a friend had
sent her. Relatively new to the world of web pages, she took it upon herself
to trek to the library where the PCs were housed. Determined to emerge and
be able to truthfully claim that she had her own web page, she spent hours
in the lab, fending off programming geeks and book nerds alike. Within a week,
that webpage was born. CJ Made Me Come Here was the freshman effort
of a lone film student, and while it would be lost in a Geocities-related
accident only a few months later, it was a testament to the student's html
writing abilities. The following sping, a sophomore
attempt at the web page, tentatively titled CJ Made Me Come Here Again!
was in the works. While it was difficult recovering the "misplaced"
files due to the Geocities (or Geoshitties, to those of you who have delt
with them in the past), most of them were found, and the page grew. It was
renamed to BeYoNd ThE rEaLm Of GoOd TaStE in May 1995, where it remained
on Geocities until November 1997, when The Big One hit. Over Thanksgiving break in 1997,
Geocities has some downtime. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things
- all web servers experience downtime once in awhile. Upon returning from
the break, the industrious young film student was dismayed to find that her
web page no longer existed. In fact, it disappeared without a trace. The only
thing remaning was a few files or photos here and there she had saved on her
own computer. By January 1998, a new web page was born, it's name simply
BeYoNd ThE rEaLm. It was there that Badtz Maru first made his appearance,
as well was the Masshole Institute of Terminology and The Yummy
Chronicles. In July 1998, the pages were moved to Tripod, and in September
1999, CJ's Page of Blah emerged. Seven years after web server
crashes, missing pages, lag, PC reformats, the VAX lab, and the term "my
home page" was first used, that same student's web page returns. I realize
that for years I've had "to be improved upon" or "please excuse
the state of this website" disclaimers up, promising to make the page
better than ever. As you can see by the introduction, this isn't another disclaimer.
This is the real deal. The

Features
Memorial
This is a tribute to people in my life who have passed on. Some of them I knew better than others, and some of them I barely knew at all. In some way or another, though, all of them made an impression on me, and for that they'll never be forgotten.
Masshole Institute of Terminology
Once upon a time my sister came across an article making fun of the way people from Boston talk. Just in time for returning college students, she clipped the article and handed off to me. Thus, MIT was born.
Driving in Massachusetts - Are
You Qualified?
You've got to be pretty tough to be able to survive a road trip behind the wheel around here. It's one thing to go sight-seeing with a friend who lives here driving. It's another thing all together to embark upon that journey yourself.
Page of Blah - Ramblings of a Neurotic Twentysomething
This is my online journal. I started it midway through 2002, mostly for humour. Along the way there have been a few un-funny posts, but most of the time I just discuss the lighter side of life.
Stuff I Couldn't Put Anywhere Else
The title of the section pretty much speaks for itself, but I know there are some of you out there who need everything spelled out... the stuff in this section didn't really fit into any other category. If I'd used a little imagination I probably could have managed, but to be honest the opening section of this page took a lot out of me. You don't like it? Hey, get your own web page.

Free The Gnomes!
At this point, you're either going to be thrilled with this new webpage, or you'll think it's the worst excuse for html you've ever seen. Either way, it's probably not going to change, so you should probably keep your opinion to yourself - but if you're feeling adventurous (I know a few of you out there are), drop me a line and say so. Who knows... perhaps you will end up as a feature on the page in the future!
